Why #NoToJeepneyPhaseout?

  • More than 600,000 jeepney drivers will suffer in the phaseout—that's almost 500,000 families or 2.5 million Filipinos.

  • The transition from traditional jeepneys to modern jeepneys will cost around P2 million - 5 million. Jeepney drivers only earn P250 - 600 a day.

  • Transportation fares will increase just as much, from P13, it can even go higher to P40 - 50 due to financial burden on jeepney drivers.

  • Modernization that comes with the cost of jeepney drivers' livelihood will never be an effective and viable solution to a country's development.
